Pico Park: Classic Edition

Pico Park is a fun brain-teaser game played by several participants. The point of the game is to overcome obstacles, clear your way, obtain the keys from the door and reach the door in time. The game is extremely difficult because it requires communication between the players who need to establish the common protocol of how they want to proceed. The game has four main modes which allow you to explore all gaming possibilities. In the regular mode you are a team and need to reach the end together. In the competition mode participants can have a little competition of who gets to the door first. Third type is called endless and will automatically start after you complete all the main levels. This modification allows you to gain higher scores as a team. Finally, online mode makes it possible for 4 people from all over the world to join in a little Pico Park tournament. But even if you choose to play this mode, it’s recommended to use video or audio call so you can adjust your movements on the go.

The gameplay is extremely addictive and requires calculations and a well-cooperated effort. A group of at least 2 and up to 10 players play the game. Characters look like cats and have cute sounding names like Speedy, Slack, Sidearms, etc. (for some reason the developers favor the letter s). Game antagonists are ghosts, green crawling things and many more. However, because of the unusual graphics design, you cannot make out a lot of details, just the colour and what this figure does.
In order to reach success, you need to pay attention to time. When the red light is on, nobody should move, unless you want to ruin the round. The highest obstacles need to be climbed as a team by stacking players on top of each other. Jumping over bridges and gaps requires participants to follow some order to jump in a particular succession. Some of the characters need to be avoided, like malicious ghosts, for example. As the ghost hovers up there, just make a run for it but do it slowly and one by one. If you run all at once the ghost will detect the commotion and attack you.
Another challenge is facing a line of springs. They work like jumping boards but be careful not to stand on them once the red light hits. Once in mid-air, it becomes very difficult not to move as the light switch is on, so you have to plan ahead as a group on what you’re going to do next. Finally, if you encounter a massive block, join your efforts and push. Usually, these blocks are found near the end, so that’s a good sign if you see one.
The most important thing, however, is obtaining the green key which can be placed higher up in some impossible-to-reach locations. Don’t be afraid to jump off the cliff to get the key, the physics of the game is calculated by the developers, so you’re most likely to get out of there after several attempts. Be sure to try out this wildly popular game if you are up for the challenge.
